To select the right pipe for a particular use, at least the following basic points need to be determined.

1. Pressure – suction
Determine the working pressure or suction pressure, take into account the sudden pressure change, such as the pressure exceeds the critical value, will damage the normal service life of the hose.

2. Compatibility of conveying materials
Determine the properties, name, concentration, temperature and state (liquid, solid, gas) of the transported material. In the transport of solid material, it is necessary to understand the particle size, density, quantity of the solid material and the characteristics, flow rate and flow rate of the liquid carrying solid material.

3. Environmental
Understand the location, ambient temperature, humidity conditions and exposure. Certain environmental conditions, such as ultraviolet light, ozone, seawater, chemicals, and other active elements, may cause early degradation of the hose.

4. Mechanical stress
Identify the bending radius and any stresses associated with traction, torsion, bending, vibration, compression deflection, and longitudinal or transverse loads.

5. The outer surface wear
Even if the pipe has good wear resistance, vibration, corrosion or dragging can cause damage to the hose, so it is necessary to carry out better protection on the pipe.

6. Working location
Know whether the hose should be placed on the floor, suspended, or submerged.

7. Use or predict connections
Choose according to the following aspects:
- Connectors and flanges: type, size, thread type, reference standard and application type;
- Connector core: inside diameter, outside diameter and length;
- Sleeve/Withhold: Type and size.
To ensure good performance, make sure hose and joint types are compatible. The working pressure of the hose assembly must meet the manufacturer’s requirements.
